Built for your business, not configured from a template
Custom design and build with no platform underneath, hosted and looked after afterward or handed over. It usually starts with a free review of the site you already have.
Most of this begins as a free review of what you already own. Sometimes the answer is that it needs work rather than replacing, and that is a cheaper answer for you than a rebuild.
No platform, no plugin stack, no theme. Nothing to patch on a Sunday because a component nobody remembers installing has a vulnerability.
The structure follows what your business does and how people buy from it, rather than whatever the template assumed when somebody else designed it.
We host and look after it as an ongoing arrangement, or hand the whole thing over if you would rather own and run it yourself. Both are real options.
What a website engagement involves
Not every engagement needs all of it, and a review sometimes ends with us saying the site is fine. We look first, then tell you which parts are worth doing.
A review before anything is built
We look at what you have: what it is costing you in speed, what it is doing to your search visibility, what works. Then a straight answer about whether it needs replacing or fixing.
Design that fits the business
Laid out around what you sell and how people decide, not around a template's idea of a homepage. You see it before it is built, not after.
Built from scratch
Written rather than assembled. That is why it is fast, why there is no plugin surface to attack, and why it can do the specific thing your business needs instead of the nearest available approximation.
Fast, and found
Speed, crawlability and structured data are built in rather than retrofitted, because they are much cheaper to do while the site is being made than afterward.
Hosted and kept running
Hosting, the certificate, backups, monitoring and security patching. It stays up, it stays current, and it is our problem when it is not.
Changes handled, not billed per request
Copy edits, new pages, updated photographs. You send what you want changed and it gets done, as part of the arrangement rather than as a line on an invoice.
However it is scoped, the order is the same: we look, we recommend, then we build and run it. See how every engagement runs →
Does your site need replacing?
Worth a look, if this sounds familiar
- Your site was built years ago and nobody has touched it since
- It is slow, and you have been told that matters but not why
- It describes a business you no longer are
- It looks fine and produces nothing
Something else, if it does not
You need to edit the site yourself, constantly, without asking anyone. That is a content system, which is a larger build, and worth saying up front.
The site is fine and the problem is that nobody finds it.
That is SEO & GEOQuestions we get about building a site
- Why not WordPress, Squarespace or Wix?
- Those are good answers when a site is simple and the budget is tight, and we will tell you if that is your situation rather than selling you something larger. Custom earns its place when the site has to do something specific to your business, when speed matters, or when you would rather not own a stack of plugins that each need patching and any one of which can be the way in.
- Can we edit the site ourselves?
- Not today, and that is worth knowing before you sign rather than after. Changes come through us and they are part of the arrangement: you send what you want changed and it gets done. If you genuinely need to edit copy yourself every week, you want a content system, which is a bigger build and a different conversation.
- Do we own it?
- Yes. The design, the code and the content are yours. If you want to move it elsewhere later, or bring it in-house, it goes with you. We host it because most clients would rather not think about hosting, not because leaving is difficult.
- How long does a build take?
- It depends on how many pages there are and how quickly content and decisions come back from your side, which is usually the real variable. We scope it against your actual site and put the timeline and the cost in writing before anything starts.
- What happens to our search rankings when the site changes?
- They are protected deliberately rather than hoped for. Existing URLs are mapped and redirected, the structure and the metadata are carried across, and search consoles are checked after launch. A rebuild that quietly drops half a site's pages is the most common way a new site loses traffic, and it is avoidable.
- How much does a site cost?
- It is quoted per project rather than published as a rate, because a five-page site and a site with a booking flow are not the same job. The review comes first, then the scope, then a number in writing before anything is built.
